Self-Doubt Is a Liar With a Loud Microphone
Self-doubt doesn’t knock politely. It barges in. It whispers things like:
- “You’re not ready.”
- “Who do you think you are?”
- “What if nobody cares?”
And the wild part? It sounds logical.
But here’s the truth: self-doubt isn’t a stop sign. It’s a test.
Most people think confidence comes first and action follows. That’s backwards. Action comes first. Confidence catches up later.
The Moment Everything Changes
On 1st March I put one of my book titles out to be narrated.
Simple move, right?
Except it wasn’t.
There’s always that split second before you press submit where doubt tries to hijack the wheel.
“What if no one responds?”
“What if the quality isn’t good?”
“What if this flops?”
And then I made a decision.
I moved anyway.
Within hours? Narrators started auditioning, 32 and counting to be exact in less than a couple hours. And not casually. They were competing. Bringing energy. Bringing presence. Bringing their A-game.
Here’s the lesson:
The opportunity wasn’t waiting on permission. It was waiting on movement.
Self-Doubt Thrives in Inaction
Self-doubt feeds on hesitation. The longer you sit, the louder it gets.
But the moment you decide, something shifts.
Courage is not the absence of doubt. It’s the decision to act while doubt is still talking.
You don’t need certainty.
You don’t need applause.
You don’t even need a full plan.
You need a decision.
Momentum Is Built, Not Found
Once that narration listing went live, momentum showed up fast.
That’s how it works in business.
That’s how it works in life.
That’s how it works in growth.
Doors don’t open for people thinking about knocking.
They open for those who knock.
Too many talented people sit on ideas because they’re waiting to “feel ready.” Meanwhile, the marketplace rewards movement, not perfection.
The Courage Equation
Here’s the formula:
- Feel the doubt.
- Decide anyway.
- Take the smallest forward action.
- Let momentum build.
- Adjust as you go.
That’s it.
Not sexy. Not dramatic. Just effective.
And here’s something most people don’t admit — self-doubt doesn’t disappear at higher levels. It just evolves.
New level. New doubts.
But now you know the pattern.
The Real Risk
The real risk isn’t failing.
The real risk is sitting on your potential until it expires.
Think about how many things in your life are one decision away from moving:
- Launching the product.
- Sending the email.
- Posting the video.
- Making the call.
- Submitting the manuscript.
- Hiring the narrator.
One move.
That’s it.
Lastly
Self-doubt will always try to protect you from embarrassment, criticism, or rejection.
But it also tries to protect you from growth.
Courage isn’t loud.
It’s a quiet decision that says: “We’re going anyway.”
And once you go?
Watch how fast the world responds.
Make the move.
