Write Your Own Purpose Quote—Because You Deserve to Know Why You’re Here

Growing up I used to like this song entitled that used to go like this…” The greatest tragedy in life; is to be alive, and don’t know why! I believe this was sung by the great Lester Lewis.  I wanted to post the link to it hear but for some reason it cannot be found, so if anyone has a link to it please feel free to connect me and or post it in the comments below.

Nevertheless that song resonated with me so deep that I always searched myself to understand my purpose.

This world is constantly trying to define us—by our jobs, our bank accounts, our relationship status, or even our zip code—there’s something powerful about turning inward and deciding for yourself: “This is who I am. This is what I was born to do.”

That’s the power of a purpose quote. It’s more than just pretty words for your Instagram bio. It’s your personal compass—your truth in one sentence. And today, I want to challenge you to write yours.

Why Your Purpose Quote Matters

  1. It gives you direction when life gets noisy.
When the world is screaming at you to be more, do more, or fit in—your purpose quote whispers, “Stay the course.” It helps you make decisions that align with your deepest calling, not just your current feelings.
  2. It becomes your personal mission statement.
Companies have them. Movements have them. Why shouldn’t you? A purpose quote centers you. It reminds you what hill you’re willing to die on and what legacy you want to leave behind.
  3. It energizes you when you feel like giving up.
On the days when nothing’s going right, your quote reminds you why you started. Why you fought. Why you must continue. Purpose is fuel—and your quote is the matchstick.
  4. It helps others see your light.
When you know your purpose, people around you feel it. You become magnetic. Your confidence becomes contagious. Your clarity gives others permission to find theirs.

How to Write Your Own Purpose Quote

Don’t overthink it. Speak from the soul. Here’s a simple prompt to guide you:

“I was born to [action] so that [impact].”

For example:

  • “I was born to create platforms for the unheard, so that every voice has the power to spark change.”
  • “I exist to challenge comfort zones and wake people up to the greatness they’ve forgotten.”

Keep refining it until it feels like a fire you could live—and die—by.

My Purpose Quote (and why it matters to me)

“I was born to build bridges where walls once stood—between people, between nations, between purpose and prosperity. My life is the blueprint, my legacy the foundation, and every act of service the structure rising from it.”

Kerwin Boxill

This quote reminds me daily why I advocate, why I hustle, why I don’t give up on my people or my dreams. It’s not about money. It’s about mission. It’s not about clout. It’s about calling.

Final Word: Don’t Float Through Life—

Fly With Aim

The truth is, most people are just drifting. Living by accident.

Living by default and not by design! Moving from task to task without ever asking why. Writing your purpose quote changes that. It anchors you. It sets your soul on fire. It becomes the GPS that helps you navigate storms, success, and everything in between.

So grab a pen. Or open your notes app. And write it out.

Because knowing your purpose isn’t optional anymore—it’s essential.

What’s your purpose quote? Drop it in the comments, or message me directly. I want to read it. And if you’re stuck, I’ll help you craft it. Let’s build legacies on purpose, not by accident.
