Know Who You Really Are and Utilize Your Power Source To Its Fullness

Life and breath are in the power of the tongue.

From the very beginning, we see how powerful words are. God spoke the world into being with just His voice. “Let there be light,” He said, and light appeared. The earth, sky, seas, and every living creature were born from the power of His spoken word. This is the same God who created us in His image, which means something profound—our words, like His, have power. Every time we speak, something happens. We either bring life or death, positivity or negativity into our lives and those around us.

But here’s where many of us lose our way: we've forgotten who we are and whose we are. So often, people live disconnected from the very source of their power—God. The reason we often feel like we’re wandering aimlessly through life, searching for purpose, is that we have stopped listening to Him. We have severed the lifeline that fuels our spirit. Just as a lightbulb cannot shine unless it is plugged into its energy source, we too cannot shine or operate as we were designed to unless we are plugged into God.

Imagine a television or lightbulb trying to function without being connected to a power source. It’s impossible, right? No matter how well the TV is designed or how advanced the lightbulb is, it will remain dormant, without purpose, until it’s plugged in. God is that plug. He’s the ultimate source of energy, wisdom, love, and truth. Without Him, no matter how much potential we have, we can never fully function as we were meant to. Yet so many people go through life without ever tapping into this power. They are unplugged from the very force that gives them purpose and life.

Why do we do this? Because we have stopped listening. The voice of God is no longer the guiding compass for many, and in doing so, we lose our sense of identity. When you don’t know who you are or what you represent, you begin to move through life with uncertainty, lacking direction. It’s like being on a ship in the middle of the ocean without a map or anchor. You drift wherever the wind takes you, tossed about by the waves of life, trying to make sense of it all but never truly understanding your purpose.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. We were created with divine purpose, with the ability to speak life and make things happen. We were made in the image of God, and that means we carry a tremendous amount of power within us. This isn’t just about religion; it’s about recognizing who we are as beings with infinite potential. If God could speak the world into existence, imagine the kind of life we can create when we align ourselves with Him.

Faith isn’t just a belief—it’s an action. It’s stepping into the unknown, trusting that the God who made you will equip you with everything you need to thrive. When you listen to God, when you truly tune in to His voice, you start to understand not just your purpose but your power. You stop scampering around aimlessly because you know who you are—a child of God, made in His image, with the ability to speak life into your situation.

It’s not easy, though. The noise of the world is loud, and it drowns out the voice of God. But when you take the time to be still, to reconnect with your Creator, you will find clarity. You will find peace. You will find the courage to speak life into every situation, even the darkest ones. And you will begin to realize that you have the power to change not just your life but the world around you.

For those who doubt the existence of God, consider this: How is it that our words carry so much weight? Why is it that what we say can affect not just our mood, but our reality? The power of speech is not a random phenomenon—it’s a reflection of the divine nature within us. When we speak, something happens. And the question is, are we using our words to bring life or to bring destruction?

The choice is yours. But understand this: You will never fully comprehend the power you hold until you reconnect with the source of that power. God is waiting. He’s the plug on the wall, and you are the lightbulb. You were made to shine, to illuminate the world with love, faith, and purpose. But you cannot do it alone. Plug into God, and watch how your life transforms. Know who you really are, and speak life into your world.

When you do, you won’t just live—you’ll thrive.
