The Power I Give — And The Reckoning It Brings

Here’s a truth I’ve learned over the years: people have the power.

Not because they took it. Not because they demanded it. But because I gave it to them.

When I put my trust, my opportunities, and my resources into someone’s hands, it’s intentional. I do it with a clear purpose — to give them the chance to prove themselves worthy of what the future is about to bring. Because the future doesn’t wait for anyone; it magnifies the decisions we make today.

But here’s where it gets interesting: some people mistake my empowerment for weakness. They think that because they’ve been allowed to hold the reins for a while, they’ve already won. They confuse my patience for complacency, my grace for naivety.

And to those people, let me be very clear: there is a seriously rude awakening en route.

The power I give is not a prize — it’s a test. A test of integrity, loyalty, and vision. It’s a measuring stick for who can carry the weight of what’s next and who will crumble under it.

For those who rise, the reward is massive — legacy, partnership, growth. For those who abuse the power they’ve been given, who think disappointing is acceptable and shortchanging the bigger picture is without consequence — you’ve written your own ending.

This season, I’m watching. Not from the sidelines, but from a higher ground. And soon enough, everyone will see that what they thought was “winning” was nothing more than a prelude to the truth.

The future is coming. And only those who prove themselves will walk into it with me.

One line for the rest of you: Power given can just as easily be reclaimed.
